Artists David Santos and James Perez were winners in a public art competition to create work for the new Austin airport. Two concepts were approved; the first is a monumental stone and steel sculpture, The Creation of Texas, and the other is to field a school of robotic blimps.
Under JumpStart Arts the artists propose to involve Austin Priority School youths in the design and building of the flying robots.
JumpStart is sponsored in part by the City of Austin under the auspices of the Austin Arts Commission.
Check out the Gates of Paradise, another JumpStart education project.
Thanks for flying PolyCosmos. Join us again.
