A correction was noted. Chair's Report ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Community Trees Award Implementation Trees will be delivered to Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Friday, November 14 and planting will be Saturday the 15th. Volunteers with trucks or trailers who can help deliver the trees will be very welcome. Caution Light Implementation Since there was no quorum, Jane took no vote on Laura's recommendation that we accept the offer to install the caution light at Harvey and Pleasant Valley Road at less than its cost. New Busines ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Boggy Creek Area Wastewater Project Gopal Guthikonda, Director told us that all the projects taking place in the Rosewood planning area are on schedule or even ahead of schedule. The entire program is over $400 million for the city and all is on schedule with the deadline set by the US Environmental Protection Agency of June 2009. That section hat goes from Manor Rd to Holly will be a $12 million project total. Austin Clean Water Program does the main line first, then the service laterals next (the line from the main water line to the property line). Those lines should be completed by March 2009. Once all those are completed, creek bank stabilization and greening will be completed, not before. Mike Kelly is the contact regarding the greening. An example of how the greening will look is Shoal Creek between 29th and 24th, where they used more natural rock to provide creek bank stabilization. There will be 2 large and 8 smaller treatment plants and one solids processing plant at Hornsby Bend. Another big project besides ours in on South Second (another $12 million project). 90% of the overflows have been removed since the project began, and the response time to an overflow has decreased from 4 hours to 60 minutes. In our area, only 51 or 178 services laterals are left to do. Paving will also be done once all the service laterals and manholes are completed. Capital Metro Dinitra Caldwell told us they are working with APD and Chestnut to beef up security at the 12th and Chicon stop to slow down drug dealers. Linda Hutchins gave locations of missing trash cans. They are willing to install new litter containers. March 30, 2009 is the hard date for light rail. MLK station should be complete by the end of December or early next year. There will be a grand opening. *Meeting adjourned*
