I. Koenig Lane Update -- Eric Vormelker

Eric gave a report on the results of the CAMPO meeting on Monday, April 9, where the plans for Koenig expansion were decided. For detailed information on the meeting, read the following Austin American-Statesman article:
http://www.austin360.com/statesman/editions/wednesday/news_3.html
It will probably be at this URL for about a week. After that, it will be archived (and we'll have a link to it on the Skyview website.)

II. Upper Boggy Creek Bikeway Presentation -- Dave Westenbarger

David answered questions on his proposal for a bikeway along the railroad track between Airport and Duval. He is soliciting support from various neighborhoods along the proposed route. It will run along or near the railroad tracks running from East 12th Street (Boggy Creek Greenbelt) to North Lamar Boulevard past Highland Mall (parallel to Duval in our neighborhood.)

He provided informational fliers for us and answered a number of questions. He also accepted input and discussed concerns about the proposed route along our stretch of the bikeway. In particular, we spent some time discussing how users of such a bikeway would safely cross Koenig at the railroad tracks. We came up with a number of suggestions which he will keep in mind as the proposal progresses through its development.

There was a lot of support for the bikeway, and after general discussion, we decided that the best approach was to draft a resolution that we will publish in the next newsletter for everyone's consideration. If there are no objections raised, the Skyview Neighborhood Association will pass this resolution at the next meeting and send a copy of it to the City Council.

Mark your calendars next meetings of the Skyview Neighborhood Association which are scheduled for:
