Guitar Lessons from professional player/teacher

There are many guitar teachers offering lessons in Austin. I think what sets me apart is that not only am I a touring professional (recently returned from a nearly sold out headlining US/Europe tour with one of Austin's prominent indie rock bands,) but I am also a trained and successful teacher - and I love teaching! I really pride myself on my ability to teach people to be confident and competent guitar players. I have a Master's degree in Music and Human Learning and am certified to teach music in Texas public schools. I also teach banjo and keyboard, and play pedal steel, mandolin, accordion, and melodica.

My approach has proven to be very successful. I teach nearly 40 students per week. One of my students took lessons from another successful teacher in Austin for a year, and he recently told me that he learned more from me in one lesson than he did in a year with this other teacher. I have many other student and parent references available on request.

I charge $40 per hour or $22.50 per half hour. If you pay for 4 lessons in advance (to be taken in a 4-week period), lesson rates are discounted to $35 per hour or $20 per half hour. All lessons are taught from my home studio just north of Hyde Park.
