Community Technology Training Centers operate in both Travis and Reagan High
Schools and offer free, adult-based computer training for area residents
who cannot afford the fee-based classes or access to technology on their
own. The centers have served 2,700 adults so far, of which 63 percent are
Hispanic or African American and 57 percent have an annual household income
of less than $30,000. Through the program 45 percent have obtained jobs,
promotions or continued on to further education. The program is a collaboration
between the City of Austin, the US Department of Education, Travis County,
industry, and local non-profit organizations committed to creating digital
opportunity for regional residents. For more information contact: Hannah
