SWE Members and Friends

June 2008

Dear Members and Friends,

As my term for the 2007-2008 SWE year comes to an end I would like to thank everyone for their
support and dedication to making this year a success. Below are a few highlights of the accomplishments
we had this year:

Our section hit the highest membership yet at 164 professional members.
We held our second joint professional meeting with National Society of Black Engineers.
We participated in several career guidance activities to promote math and science to students in the community.
We had a number of speaker meetings and networking events with terrific attendance.
We included non-engineering events as well including Jazzercise and High heels on Wheels
We are going to have many new faces as our officers and chairs for 2008-2009. Please join me in
congratulating them and welcoming them in their new roles.

I hope the momentum and success we’ve had this year continues on and I encourage you all to get
involved to help make next year even better. I look forward to seeing you at a future SWE event.
