Engineering

Bioengineering involves the study of the human body from the engineering perspective. It is an emerging field which combines several disciples including mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineering with human and animal physiology to develop engineering solutions to the body. In college, students will take engineering courses along with biology and anatomy courses to learn about the human body. Bioengineering may be offered with a pre-med program. If you are interested in both engineering and medicine, this field should be considered. Examples of bioengineering applications in medicine include the pacemaker for heart patients, articifial limbs and joints.
