Engineers are employed by private companies producing products, government organizations, academia, and consulting firms.

    Starting salaries for graduating engineers are usually between $35,000 and $50,000 with engineering disciplines such as chemical, computer and electrical engineering being on the high end. Salaries are also dependent on the skill set of the engineer, GPA, university and relevant co-op or internship experience and even location. Engineers with more than 10 years experience have salary ranges from $50,000 to $100,000 with engineers whom have skills in demand generating the higher salaries. Some engineers with specific marketable skills in high demand generate salaries over $100,000.
