2006-07 SWE Southwest Texas Scholarship

Information
Scholarship details:
A scholarship in the amount
of $1000 will be awarded to one
junior who meet the following eligibility requirements. We encourage all
eligible students to apply!
Eligibility Requirements:
- A woman enrolled in good
standing in an engineering or related field curriculum leading to a degree in
engineering or a related field at one of the SWE Southwest Texas section
universities (Baylor University, Trinity University, University of Texas at
Austin, University of Texas at Pan American, University of Texas at San
Antonio, Texas State at San Marcos, and Texas A&M at Kingsville).
- A member of a Society of
Women Engineers Student Section at one of the Southwest Texas section
universities listed above.
- Be in a position to
accept the scholarship toward engineering studies in an accredited school in
the Fall of 2007 (must not be graduating this semester).
- Have an overall GPA of
at least 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent).
- A U.S. citizen or
permanent resident.
Application Requirements:
- Application Form:
Completed Society of Women Engineers Scholarship
University Application form.
- Transcript:
Official copy of applicant’s transcript showing grades for the entire
enrollment in current school and for prior colleges and universities.
- Statement of
Activities, Honors, Leadership:
On a single sheet of paper, please list school and community activities,
including years which you have participated. Identify any leadership positions
you have held. List any awards or honors you have received.
- One-page
typewritten essay: Written by
the applicant, please describe your opinions on the following topic:

What has been the most rewarding
or interesting aspect of engineering to you so far?
- Professional Data
(optional):
Supply a brief resume of any work experience, including duties. Describe any
research projects, design projects, or design teams in which you have
participated.
General conditions:
- Scholarships will be
awarded for the next semester of study for the recipient (Fall 2007).
- Scholarship recipients
will be notified in April 2007. Non-recipients will not be notified, unless a
self-addressed stamped envelope is submitted with the application.
- Scholarship must be
claimed within one year of notification.
- Scholarship recipient
must provide a statement of good standing from the Engineering Department
Head, Dean or Registrar, before actual receipt of the scholarship.
- No application materials
will be returned.
Mailing instructions:
All of the items listed
above in the application requirements section must be mailed, in one envelope or
package, postmarked on or before April 1st 2007, to:
