Blackhawk Helicopter Tour

April 20, 2005

We had a small but enthusiastic group on had for the visit. Scott, Matt, Wally, Kit, Clayton, David, Kevin were on hand as well as Mr. T., Mr. K. and Mr. B.. CW3 Drew Seagaves was our Host. He spent 1-1/2 hours showing us around the facility. The guys were really impressed with the hanger full of Blackhawk helicopters. They got time to really look at them and ask questions with out hundreds of others milling around. The building is state of the art for a helicopter facility. The hanger alone was about one and a half football fields in length and can hold 16 helicopters. It had a foam fire fighting system that could fill the hanger with foam to a depth of 8 to 10 feet in 60 seconds. Of course someone asked if they would test it out...........anyway we really had a great time.

Our host, Mr. Seagraves, crew in front of a UH-60L BlackHawk. 3000 hours one owner.

This is one really big hanger. For being run by a bunch of guys, it is really clean.

Read my lips Mr. Bradley. Wally and David in the aft cabin of a Blackhawk.

Future helicopter pilots practice yanking and banking.

Practicing coming to a sudden stop and how many scouts can you hide behind a crew chief?
