Reasons to join Troop 30
Meetings
At our meetings, we often have a cool guest speaker tell us about things
like fireworks, snake bites, nuclear submarines, how do deal with bears, and
more. At other meetings we work on rank advancement, play games and prepare
for campouts.
Style
Troop 30 is boy-led and emphasizes reverence to God, the flag and our country.
Scoutmaster
Troop 30 has a cool Scoutmaster, who enjoys helping the boys.
Camping
We go camping almost every month and sometimes more than once. We also
try to camp at beautiful places where not many people are already camping.
Troop 30 knows how to have fun
Pocket knives are allowed in Troop 30 and on campouts if you have earned
the Toten' Chip. On campouts, we build fires (if there isn't a burning ban)
and we sing songs, adults tell stories, and the patrols perform skits. Patrols
are allowed to light their own campfires. Troop 30 likes to play in the water.
Some cool places we've gone are:
Wolf Mountain
Moore Ranch
Hearne Ranch
Enchanted Rock
Lost Maples
Pedernales Falls
Goose Island
USS Lexington
NASA Space Center Camp
Canyon of the Eagles
Recent high adventure trips to:
Canada
New Mexico
Missouri
Colorado
Florida
Troop 30 has troop meetings every Monday, 7:00 to 8:30 PM at St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 1500 North Capital of Texas Highway Austin, Texas 78746. Hope to see you there.
