Hi! My name is Jennifer Tripp, and just to see if anything would
come up I Googled
the Central High School class of 1943.
You see, my grandmother was a proud member of that class,
and would have loved to see picture of all of her classmates online.
My grandmother was Maxine Pumphrey (Douglas), married to Elza "Pete" Douglas
from Webster High School. They were married in 1944 and lived in West Tulsa,
raising their daughter (my Mom) and their 3 sons. Sadly, both of them have
passed on - Grandpa in February 1995, and Grandma in July 2005.
Over the years though, they both told lots of stories about their high school years
and all of their friends and how much fun they had!
I still have Grandma's class ring from 1943, and it is a cherished part of my jewelry
collection.
I remember Grandma telling me all about Central High School
and her escapades with her friends, including her very best friend Bilye June Hawk.
I love that you have a website devoted to the Class of 1943,
and think it's great that everyone still gets together to visit.
Thanks so much!

I was reading the Tom Tom of Feb. 07
and I noticed that it was asked
about a reunion in 08. My wife and I would attend one if it is held.
Jerry (my wife) is from the clas of 48 Tulsa Central
and we always attend her reuions also.
For your info we live in Dallas, I
retired from the Navy in 1970
and was stationed at NAS Dallas and since the kids were in school we just stayed
here.
Something was mentioned about pictures, I could not find one handy of just me
but I am sending one taken 2 years ago at our granddaughters wedding.
I am allowed to wear the uniform at special occasions and she requesed that I do so
at the wedding. On the left is my wife, middle is the minister that performed the wedding
and of course the last one is me.
