Roundtable will be held this Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in San Marcos, 129 W. Hutchison.
Robert Sherill of the Council Resource Allocation Service Delivery (RASD) Committee will be presenting a proposed plan that will help provide better service to the units in the Districts. This proposed plan will affect all the Districts in the Council.
Roundtable discussions will also include Day Camp, Pinewood Derby, Spring and Fall Recruitment, Scouting for Food along with informational handouts for popcorn and other upcoming activities. The Order of the Arrow will also be conducting their monthly meeting.
Childcare will be available at a small fee. Please RSVP with the number of children you will be bringing. We have some great door prizes this month courteous of Mr. Unger and Campingrunt.com. Pizza will also be served at 6:30 pm. Get there early to enjoy the fellowship!
Let's get our roundtable attendance back to where it needs to be so we can deliver quality programs. Round table is every second Thursday at 6:30 PM, this one is Thursday April 12th, at the San Marcos First United Methodist Church.
ROUNDTABLE
Roundtable is your best
opportunity to get current Scouting information, help preparing for next month's
program and just some good old fun. Roundtable happens every second Thursday
each month at the First United Methodist Church downtown San Marcos, one block
off the square beside the HEB Food Store. Roundtable starts at 7:00 pm and runs
for about an hour. Roundtable is the place to be for all of these things and
more. You can connect with many experienced leaders that can help answer your
questions and don't forget about our highly trained Roundtable staff.
Roundtable is a function of the Commissioner's Staff. Charlie Salas is our District Commissioner and his Roundtable staff folks
are: Dora Romero, our new Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner with energy and
drive she has plenty of Cub Scout experience; and our Boy Scout Roundtable
Commissioner, Tom Bauman, also has a wealth of experience with infective
enthusiasm. They have great plans for the next program year. Come
out to Roundtable catch the excitement.
SUMMERTIME AWARDS
Summer is coming again.
Remember to work toward your Summertime Pack Award or National
Camping Award for Boy Scouts? To earn this award the Pack must have at least one
activity a month for the three months of the summer and at least 50% of members
attending each meeting. You can also earn a Summer Time Den Award, ask
your commissioner or the Scout Shop to find out how.
Scout Troops; there are four different levels of recognition for you National
Camping Award. There is the basic level where you need to have a minimum
of 10 days and nights of camping in a 12-month period. There are also a
Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. The requirement for these awards are found
in the Troop/Team Record Book that each Troop or Team should have. You can
also talk to your commissioner or the people in the Scout Shop for additional
help.
Both Boy Scout Summer Camp and Cub Scout Day Camp and Resident Camp will help
you qualify for these. Did you earn one? Maybe you did all the right things
and didn't even know it. Check it out.
