Texas Environmental Democrats is an organization of politically involved individuals throughout the state working to preserve our air, water, and soil.

We need your help.

• Texas lost 178,700 acres of land from 1992-97 to urban development, yet Gov. Perry has done little to acquire park land or promote wildlife conservation.

• Texas ranks first in the nation in total toxic air emissions from industrial facilities.

• The population of Texas grew by 3 million people during the last decade, placing enormous strain on the state's resources.

• Texas ranks 49th among all 50 states in per capita spending on state parks.

• Of the 50 largest industrial facilities in Texas, 28 violate the Clean Air Act.
