Our program was helping Keith Sterzing figure out why he can't send email.

We got a good start setting up Keith's machine. Sure enough we tracked his problem down to a message window that appears for about 1/10th of a second after Keith instructs AmigaMail to send a message. We see the transmit and receive modem lights each flash once. AmigaMail thinks it sent the message, but no email is ever sent. We even found a miscellaneous incorrect final line in his inetd services file thanks to turning on debug in Genesis, but the AmigaMail preferences' debug output is trivial and not helpful. We want to know what that flicker of a window was all about.

Since George's ISP, io.com, is the same as Keith's, he tried to help by setting up his A1200 and using Thor to email after setting up as if he were Keith, but a problem he had with News interfered with email so that was a loss. He was able to use his telnet account to fetchmail from Keith's account which showed that mail sent to Keith was getting there, but otherwise was of no help on the "sending" front.

Before you scratch your head it was time to get out of there. You can see Keith's 68060 machine down front and George's scsi tower in the back with his A1200 sticking out of the sack.

The real fun was to be had at the PigSig at, of all places, Conan's pizza. Just after we ordered a deep pan, white, giant Savage for the 4 of us, Tamara, Don's daughter showed up. As well as being a kinesthesiologist she is a vegetarian.... TOO BAD! But she helps out by badgering Don to do his rehab for the heart bypass surgery 2 months ago and chauffeur him around until the doc says he can drive again.

Around the table: Keith, Tamara, Don, Charlie and George (being represented by the beer bottle and specs).
