Woman of Distinction Award

The GIRL SCOUTS - LONE STAR COUNCIL annually honors women from the 18 county area it serves who have distinguished themselves as outstanding models for girls and women through individual excellence and high levels of achievement. Past recipients have included women honored for excellence in the areas of Business/Corporate, Education, Communications, Health Care, Volunteer Services, Multicultural Activities, and Girl Scouting.

Guidelines for Nominations

A. When submitting a nomination, please consider that WOMEN OF DISTINCTION are those who: ¨

  • Are current or former residents of the 18 county area served by the Girl Scouts - Lone Star Council (counties of Austin, Bastrop, Blanco, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Lee, Llano, Milam, Travis, Washington, and Williamson.).
  • ¨Have had a direct and powerful impact on those with whom they have been associated. ¨
  • Are persons of importance and influence who have made significant contributions to their communities.
  • Exhibit the qualities of the Girl Scout Promise and Law in their lives.

B. Please submit information on the Nomination Form. Attach additional information or news clippings if desired.

C. The Women of Distinction Luncheon serves not only as a forum for recognizing outstanding women of the Council's area, but also as an important fundraising event and promotion for Girl Scouting in the Girl Scouts - Lone Star Council area. Honorees will be outstanding women who will naturally garner enthusiasm and support for the event.
