Why do Girl Scouts sell cookies?
It's about learning skills.

Welcome toProduct Sales

Fall Sale Program is an opportunity for
Girl Scout Troops to raise money for
troop events and activities.

On the 3rd Friday of each September, this sale is held to give Girl Scout Troops the opportunity to raise funds for troop activities, events, camping trips, community projects, or for just plain fun. Ask your Troop Leader for more information.

Why do we sell Girl Scout Cookies?

Besides the prizes and incentives you earn by taking part in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale and the funds for your troop activities and events you are also acquiring some important skills that will help you for the rest of your life. Remember how nervous you get each time you have to count out change? Or how good it makes you feel each time a customer says, "Why yes, I'd love to buy a box of Girl Scout Cookies!"?

And you are also helping your sister Girl Scouts as well. Take a look at the "Cookie Chart" below to see how you contribute to nearly 15,000 other girls, their leaders and other parent volunteers as well.

What are Cookie Credits and how can I Use Them?

Cookie Credits are earned by Girl Scouts who participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale each year and they are issued based on the number of boxes of cookies each girl sells. A girl who sells 96 boxes of cookies will earn a $10.00 Cookie Credit while a girl who sell 192 boxes of cookies receives a Cookie Credit for $25.00.

Cookie Credits can be used in a variety of ways. You can use them towards Summer Resident Camp at Camp Texlake, you can spend them on items for yourself at the Lone Star Council's Girl Scout Shop, you can register for an event from Possibilities or you can apply them to a troop event, activity or trip. In fact, there is only one rule when it comes to Lone Star Council Cookie Credits. You must use them for something related to Girl Scouting and with today's Girl Scouts, that almost unlimited.

In most cases, all you need to do is attach the Cookie Credit to the registration form for the event or activity if it is within the Lone Star Council. If it is outside of the Lone Star Council, all you need to do is call the Lone Star Council Product Sales Office at 512-453-7391 or toll free at 1-800-733-0011 to find out if your event or activity can be included and how to use them.
