The Flag Ceremony began at 10:30 A.M. We had ideal weather for the event this year and the turnout was exceptional. It is always fun for folks to again visit with their family and friends.

The Flag Ceremony began at 10:30 A.M. Robert Noland President of the Mahomet Cemetery Association opened the ceremony. John Davenport, Pastor of the Mahomet Christian Church gave the invocation. Robert led the Pledge of Allegiance. John Davenport then shared the importance and meaning of the event. Sharion (Williams) Kinnison read the name of each veteran buried in the Mahomet Cemetery. As the name was read an American flag was given to a family member or friend.

A friend or family member then placed an American flag in the flag holder on each veteran's grave.
