A new listserv is now available for open public discussion about the Texas Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund (TIF). This is the fund recently created by the Texas State Legislature that will provide $1.5 billion in grants, over ten years, to help facilitate the deployment and use of advanced telecommunications technologies in public schools, libraries, medical facilities, and other public institutions in Texas.

This listserv is NOT affiliated in any way with the TIF Board of Directors or the staff of the program. It is an independent public forum.

The list is unmoderated. All messages relevant to the TIF program are welcome.

To subscribe to the list, send an e-mail message to the following address:

listproc@mcfeeley.cc.utexas.edu

DO NOT USE A SUBJECT LINE.

In the first line of the message, put:

Subscribe TIF [First name] [Last name]

THE LISTSERV WILL REJECT ANY MESSAGES THAT DO NOT CONTAIN YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME, AS IN "JANE DOE." YOU MUST ALSO SEND THIS MESSAGE FROM THE MACHINE AND ACCOUNT TO WHICH YOU WANT LIST MAIL SENT.

Once you have subscribed, you will receive an automatic confirmation message assigning you a password. This password is only used for LIVE connections, and can be IGNORED.

You will receive instructions on how to use the listserv, including the address for messages to be sent to the list, instructions for receiving digests, and other details.

The "owner" of this list is:

E-mail: gary.chapman@mail.utexas.edu

The "owner" has no special role or status on the list, however, but acts merely as an administrator. As noted above, the list is unmoderated, so all mail sent to the appropriate address will be distributed to all list subscribers.

Thanks for your interest and participation!
